OUTLINE OF THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM
  1. The theft deterrent system can be set by locking the doors using the transmitter.
  2. The alarm function will be activated when someone attempts to forcibly unlock any of the doors or open any of the doors, engine hood, and back door while the system is in the armed state.
  3. In the alarm sounding state, the system flashes the hazard warning lights. At the same time, the system sounds the vehicle horn and security horn to deter break-in and theft as well as to warn people around the vehicle.
  4. The alarm can be cancelled by unlocking the doors using the transmitter.
  5. The theft deterrent system has the active arming mode. There are 4 states; a disarmed state, an arming preparation state, an armed state, and an alarm sounding state.
  1. Disarmed state:

    1. The alarm function is not operating.
    2. The theft deterrent system is not operating.

  2. Arming preparation state:

    1. The time until the system goes into the armed state.
    2. The theft deterrent system is not operating.

  3. Armed state:

    1. The theft deterrent system is operating.

  4. Alarm sounding state:

    1. The alarm function is operating.

    Alarm time:
    Approximately 30 seconds.

ACTIVE ARMING MODE

HINT:
Active arming mode starts the alarm control immediately after the doors are locked.

  1. Active arming mode:
This system operates described in the diagram below when one of the items for each condition is met.

    HINT:
The following terms "all doors" and "door" also refer to the back door.

    Condition
    Item
    Condition (1)
In the disarmed state, the system state is switched if one of the following conditions is met when the key is not in the actuation area:*2
    1. With all doors and the engine hood closed, all doors have been locked by wireless operation.
    Condition (2)
    1. Approximately 30 seconds elapse after condition (1) is met.
    Condition (3)
    1. A wireless unlock signal is received.
    2. The driver door only or all doors are unlocked by key operation.*3
    3. Any door is unlocked.
    4. Any door is opened.
    5. The engine switch is turned on (IG).*2
    6. The ignition switch is turned to ON or ACC.*1
    7. The key is inserted into the ignition key cylinder.*1
    8. The battery is reconnected.
    Condition (4)
    1. The engine hood is opened.
    2. The battery is reconnected.
    3. Any door is opened.
    4. Any door is unlocked when all doors are locked.
    5. The ignition switch is turned to ON without using the key.*1
    6. When 5 seconds or more have elapsed after the engine switch is turned off, the engine switch is turned on (IG).*2
    Condition (5)
    1. A wireless unlock signal is received.
    2. The ignition switch is turned to ON and the engine is run for more than 2 seconds.*1
    3. The engine switch is turned on (IG) and the engine is run for more than 2 seconds.*2
    Condition (6)
    1. Approximately 35 seconds elapse. (The alarm stops and the system returns to the armed state.)

    2. *2: w/ Entry and Start System

FORCED DOOR LOCK CONTROL
  1. The forced door lock control prevents the vehicle from being tampered with. Immediately after a door is unlocked (alarm starts), all doors are forced to lock by a forced door lock signal.

    1. Conditions that force the doors to lock:
The key is not in the key cylinder (w/o Entry and Start System) or engine switch on (ACC or IG) position (w/ Entry and Start System) and both of the following conditions are met:

      1. The theft deterrent system is in the alarm sounding state of active arming mode.
      2. Any door is unlocked.

      HINT:
      1. During the first alarm, forced door lock control does not operate if any door is unlocked by key operation.
      2. After the first alarm, forced door lock control does operate.

SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT OUTPUT
  1. The main body ECU outputs a signal to turn on the security indicator light, according to the state of the theft deterrent system. However, some of the actual lighting conditions of the security indicator light are different from the output signals of the main body ECU.
